So it looks like our streak is coming to an end. Latest advisory has hurricane warnings issued for the Gulf Coast. Thankfully as of right now it looks like where I live (hour north of Gulfport, MS) will miss the northeast side of the storm. They already are cutting Cruisin’ The Coast short (rightly so) due to the storm and I guess I will be going to get some water and a couple other things just to be safe.

The other good news is it’s expected to only be a Cat. 1. I really hope it stays that way. The MS coast looks better now than it did before Katrina and it would break my heart to see it ruined again.

If it stays as a Cat 1, y’all should be okay. Some wind, some flooding, but nothing too awefully catastrophic.

Hopefully.

I feel ya. We’ll be on the west side of the storm if it goes where predicted.

I’m taking the afternoon to pick up some fuel, some extra food, some batteries, and some propane for the grill.

Yeah I’m really hoping this one stays a Cat1.

Yeah that’s what I will be doing. At least the track has moved back east. At first where you were would have been almost right in the middle of it.

Yeah hopefully so. It shouldn’t be too awful where I am, just worried about the coast mainly. Hwy 90 runs right along the coast and floods easily. I really hope nobody down there has gotten complacent after what happened in 2005.

I keep up with the blogs on Weather Underground’s hurricane site and you’d be amazed how many doomcasters there are. If I had a dollar for every time somebody mentioned ‘oh just give it this long and it will be in warm water and can still RI’ I would be rich.

It’s one of those things where I’m glad but not glad.

Even if it stays a tropical storm, the storm surge is still probably going to cause issues.

Agreed. It’ll be moving fast too.
