One thing my dad does is keep cars a long time. He’s had his ‘94 Z28 since ‘97, he had his ‘05 Chrysler 300 C until last year when it dropped a valve seat. So why is he texting me about selling his Camaro, selling his replacement ‘12 300 C, and selling his ‘83 Honda Goldwing and buying this?
2011 Mercedes SL550. Apparently this would be his only car...I’d imagine he would have to buy a winter beater, he’s not driving that to work after a Rhode Island snow storm.
Its a totally bonkers idea, but one that I support. I mean...red interior on a black Mercedes SL, you basically have to do it.

The funny part of this is that its a result of him driving my ‘93 Miata to work yesterday. He did that and decided he wanted a 2 seat convertible, and thats what he came up with.

I think he’s probably going to want to be newer...and I know he wouldn’t like the red/black on that one. He’s weird, he loves a red interior but I don’t think he’s had a red car in 20 years...and that was a maroon ‘88 Pontiac 6000 STE, haha.

Why not just get a Miata then? The Miata RF might fit the bill. A little slower than his Z28, but I’m sure he could still have plenty of fun in it.

Not true. In fact I happen to know that an SL55 AMG driven 0 miles a year will cost the same in maintenance as a Corvette driven 0 miles a year.

Goldwing hurts his back maybe? That drop top SL would be perfect - gobs of go, wind in the face, nice noise from the motor. If he’s got the cash, don’t let him wait until it’s too late. Beautiful car.
