Looks tasty!

I just had a nice sirloin steak, with ‘home’-cut fries. My uncle and aunt are visiting me in Toronto, and decided to treat (poor student) me, by taking me out to a restaurant. Plan was to go to the restaurant on top of the CN tower, but it was full already, so we went to the next place we could find, haha.

It’s really nice. The mini hash browns or similar really help mop up the excess sauce.

Very nice.

Steak and chips can be amazing done right.

What are you studying in Toronto?

Lasagna homemade? I have bolognese in the freezer, so I might just make one.

I didn’t.

It’s an oven ready, ready meal. It’s the best I’ve had of it’s kind.

Do not think we have that here, but I’m open to it if we do.

It’s a U.K. only company.

It’s a bit more expensive than most but really worth it.

I’m doing research into batteries for automotive applications here in Toronto.

Nice one.

It’s a promising and important future for automobiles.

Exactly! So that’s why it’s so nice to be in this field at the moment.

Also, I’m living in your beloved Commonwealth now, haha.

The technology in batteries hasn’t followed as much as the effort into what they can use batteries for.

Yep, the Maple Leaf Forever my friend.

You just need to tell them they are chips and not fries. Lol.

Exactly, even experts on battery chemistry don’t have them fully figured out yet, so it makes it very hard to work with such unknowns for me as an electrical engineer. Lots of ground to cover still, on both chemical and electrical sides.

Haha, they must’ve taken that over from the ‘Muricans. They do still fly the Union Jack inside Toronto city hall, which is nice to see.

You keep in there fella.

It’s always good to see the union flag whether it’s mine, a territory, a commonwealth or even the Hawaiian flag.
