It looks like a a nice little fast enough soft roader.

Did they come with a manual? And with AWD?

My mom still has her 2003 manual CRV that she bought new. Engine has been replaced, but she still has and uses it.

Just get a vq35 r50 pathfinder with a stick. Just as good on road but no softroading here, just good old regular trail running.

Step 1: Find one that is not rusted to the 4th level of hell & back.

Lol. I thought I had found one when I bought mine 2 years ago. Turns out it was just hanging out under the perfect looking paint waiting for me to pour more money in mods into it before it surfaced. Shame though, great great cars.

Your post sadly reminded me that I saw a Taurus X this morning. Had no idea such a thing existed. Wish I still didn’t know.

It was called the Freestyle the first 3 years it was on the market. Somewhere in there Ford brought back the Taurus nameplate when they refreshed the Five Hundred sedan and then facelifted the Freestyle while renaming it Taurus X for two model years before it was killed. The Taurus got a new generation but the Taurus X did not carry on. Instead it was replaced with the Flex which is based on the 6th gen Taurus platform (much like the X was on the 5th gen Taurus). Believe it or not, the Taurus X did have a third row and is within an inch or two in size of the Flex.

I recently found a 6-speed manual X-trail with selectable AWD (It said 2wd - 4wd - Auto on the dial) in Toronto on kijiji for $1800. The kicker... It wasn’t rusty. It also had a new clutch and new tires.
