I was thinking the same thing. And Yakupov signed a 1-year deal with the Avalanche this summer... shows how low he’s fallen if that’s the only team that would sign him.

He looked ok at the couple of Avs preseason/scrimmage games I was at. I suppose at least he looked better than, say 6th round draft picks.

He’s not a bad player. I think his first few years with the oilers really screwed him up mentally.

I’d say this is his last season to put it together for something meaningful. At least nobody else on the Avs play D, so he doesn’t have to worry about looking bad in that department.
