Some days, like these last few, it’s a lot harder to find the sun, but it’s always there.
*** “we all have that choice” My family has a history of depression. I understand that some just can’t find the sun no matter how hard they try... If you’re feeling that way, please talk to someone and get some help. We all get down from time to time, but if you can’t get yourself out of the depths and the pain is getting to be too much, there may be something wrong with your internal chemistry (think of it like being diabetic), and it can be fixed. I’ve seen it. ***

I read somewhere once that people can say or do whatever they want but they cannot make you sad, mad or angry. That’s a choice you make. To let them make you sad, mad or angry.
Sometimes in frustrating moments I remind myself that I’m in control and others can’t effect me if I don’t let them.
Doesn’t always work, but sometimes it helps.

Some days I can feel the depression creeping in. I read this and it’s helping me dig into my cognitive-behavioral toolbox so I can make the effort to keep it from taking over.
I need to schedule an appointment with a therapist soon.
