Aftermarket Warranty Quotes

Do any Oppos know if there are any companies that give ballpark warranty quotes without a phone call? I’m willing to shop around and make calls when I have a specific car that I’m 99% sure that I’m going to buy. However when I’m just “tire kicking” a particular model I don’t want to give my info out just to get peppered with calls. I’ve only purchased one once before, from Zurich Insurance. I did it through a dealer and I didn’t pay close enough attention and it overlapped with the factory warranty, so I got boned out of 7 months of coverage. I’m looking to do my homework this time.

We use Vision at the credit union I work at. I dunno if they do quotes without a call but they have good coverage at a fair price.

On a Range Rover?

I suspect the quote will be about 7 million dollars.

Haha. I can’t imagine that it will be too much worse or even as expensive as the one I bought for the E90 M3 which was a little more than 3k for 2 years/20k miles.

Are you driving something notoriously unreliable or are you abusive to your vehicles? If not then you don’t likely need one. Most modern vehicles are quite reliable for 100k+ miles easily. I consider my Flex a little less than perfectly reliable and I just replaced the first part on it at 115k miles (alternator) last weekend.

No, and no and I’m a big DIYer. I bought one on my E90 M3 and it didn’t pay off for a few reasons.

I’m just beginning my research on 2011+ Range Rovers, and I’m curious as to the cost of an aftermarket warranty because of Land Rover’s quality “stigma”. I don’t personally know any owners/mechanics and we all know what the internet has to say about them... So I want know what it will cost for a warranty Vs. what it might cost if I fix it myself.

I don’t however want to know bad enough to pick up the phone, at least not yet haha.

Makes sense. As I understand land rovers, since change of ownership, are far more reliable than the old ones ever were, but they’re all still less a decade old, so only time will tell.

I’ve got a neighbor that operates a body shop that works mainly for a dealer network down the road and I see newer ones in there regularly. He tells me they’re entirely different machines than they used to be in terms of build quality and parts availability. He doesn’t touch the mechanical aspects of them, but it’s a data point.

USAA (which offers Assurant coverage) will give a quote online, but you need to log in to your USAA account. If you’re looking for a ballpark figure, let me know and I can run it.
