It’s more of a crash simulator than anything else, but it’s good for just driving around and messing with the customization system (as you can see, with mods, it gets pretty crazy). But even with the stock game you get some pretty Jalop rides (the mod community is pretty Jalop as well - there’s a guy working on a Corolla right now; I made the Datsun 720 above my default ride). There’s even a skid plate config for the generic FWD beater!
I highly recommend watching the Car Boys series on Youtube (courtesy of Polygon) wherein a pair of entertainers mess around with the game:

That first picture reminds me of that one mclaren picture without the backfire. They are very similar
