My car is nasty right now. It is caked in dirt and rubber dust on every surface.

It’s mostly the wheels that keep me from washing it more often. You can’t wash the car without washing them and they’re a bitch to clean. Every time I have the time and motivation to do it it always seems we get bad weather.

In all honesty it doesn’t look bad-bad. I’ll strongly suggest a good prewash like a citrus spray or snow foam before tackling her with a two bucket wash. It looks like a lot of sand is deposited in those water spots, this will tear the life out of your paint quickly if you go straight in with a two bucket wash.

If you’ve no snow foam lance, snow foam or citrus spray. Make up a stronger than a two bucket wash solution of car shampoo to water ration in a spray bottle, preferably a pump sprayer and spray over the car, don’t let it dry in, and then hose it off, pressure washer rinse it off is best but jet wash from a hose and then rinse would be okay. You need to remove as much of the debris within the water spots as possible before a two bucket wash.

I just use car shampoo with some diluted degreaser on the wheels. The paint’s not in amazing condition anyway so I’m not willing to give it the care I would a new car.

It gets like this because the lot I park in at work is dirt. When it’s dry out cars moving around kick up a lot of dust and it settles on the car. It’s been raining lately, resulting in that stippling. Most of it just rinses off.

Black sapphire paint needs love as it flattens fast.

A shampoo/degreaser combo will work on wheels but have you tried a sealant or a spray sealant such as Gyeon Wetcoat? It’ll reduce the built up and make them easier to clean.

Ye’, those wheels can be a nightmare to clean with all the acute angles and narrow spaces to get into.

The clearcoat is actually in amazing condition for its age, you can see sharp reflections in it and the gloss is even across all surfaces. The whole car is covered in small scratches and rock chips though. It’s a fifteen foot car at best.
