Chris Harris of Top Gear gets it. Thank you Chris, for showing the world I’m not mad. And for further inflating prices. Slow car fast ftw!

/proud owner of:
1986 Peugeot 205 1.1 base version with 205 XS engine/transmission swap, but retaining the single carburetor of the 1.1. Because reasons. Also: ancient (=hard) 145mm narrow tires and hilarious body roll.
1987 Peugeot 205 CTI convertible with 2.0t swap
1988 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6 (bone stock)

I had 3 MA70 Supras at the same time. Each with a different engine (7MGE, 7MGTE, 2JZGE).

I would own three versions of a Golf: regular, GTI, and Golf R.

I would also have three versions of a Mustang: convertible GT, Ecoboost fastback, and crashed.

People used to look at me funny when I had seven “L” body Mopars. One ride in a GLH-T opened their eyes!

I have a 144, but I also want a 242, a 244, and maybe a 245. Or some other combination of 100 and 200 series Volvos. All for different reasons. I could also go for an E30 coupe and an E30 touring, and an E34 sedan and also a touring

Can’t watch at work :( could I be cheeky and ask you to summarise?

Interested because although I own 3 Spitfires and 2 XJ40s, I don’t think I’ve ever quite got the ‘multiples of the same car’ thing when each one isn’t wildly different. If the point is to have multiples of the same car that are wildly different then I can happily go on thinking that having the same car in different paint codes is weird and I’m still fine ;)
