I worked on a case involving jet engines once - blade off test means they blow a blade off to test integrity so shrapnel doesn’t penetrate cabin - engine at full speed:

Test of a Rolls Royce jet engine destroying a set of blades to see if the engine contains all the debris and doesn’t catch fire.

Good: the Air France engine contained the failure exactly as expected

Bad: Someone has to go to Greenland and look for the cowling.

I bet they were glad they had 4 engines to start with instead of 2

That seems like it’s spinning really slowly

Probably an RR or a GE (less likely Pratt & Whitney).

It’s an optical illusion, but they also don’t have to spin that fast because the fan design is so efficient.

All two-engine commercial aircraft are designed to be able to fly safely on just one engine

the video is taking 24pictures or 24 frames per second, so the blade may be moving faster than appears. for example it may not be 15 degrees but 375 (360+15degress) between frames, but because it is spinning so fast it appears to be moving slowly

I think I used to know that and forgot, that’s really cool. I remember reading something about how the B-17 could fly with only one engine, or at least it some cases it managed it.

I think the B-17 was more a case of managing it. With a modern twin engine jet though you could safely fly it across the country and land it with just one engine. The only part you couldn’t really do is take off with the one engine.
