Your power steering pump alone is more than my timing belt, water pump, and 90k service combined. You should keep sharing!

The M5 made the ominous bong noise two nights ago that means you’re about to see an alert on the dash about something that just failed that will cost at least $2k to repair. Whoever came up with the noise had a cruel streak. It might as well just say “well you’re fucked now aren’t cha?” over the stereo speakers.

Just a brake light bulb burned out. That’s all it was. Replaced both the the AutoZone parking lot yesterday morning. $5, readily in stock, and five minutes total to swap them out.

Never would have expected that.

My passenger seat sensor is sort of fucked so whenever someone sits down I get the death bong.

I would like to inform you that for $79.71 less than the power steering pump fix, you could have bought my car ($4000.24, tax, title and fees included).

For the price of his power steering pump fix I’ll ship my car to him, and guarantee that he’ll never have a single problem with it’s power steering pump.

I just did over $14k on one repair order for an SL65. Not sure if that will make you feel better or worse though.

Yes lol. I’m almost happy that the pump needs replacing though. Soon the car will be mechanically perfect for the first time. Also, I found out my dealer refinishes wheels for a very reasonable price so now I don’t have to order another set of wheels. What went wrong on that SL65 ? Also, does the mechanic’s diagnosis on the pump sound reasonable?

That’ll be nice! The diagnosis seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Only one thing went wrong. One of the hydraulic rams for the roof failed and leaked oil all over and roof speed stopped working. During my inspection I found a bunch of maintenance it was overdue for, two leaking struts, worn ball joints, and other stuff like that. He bought a new headliner because the old one was soaked with oil. And the ignition coils seized in the heads and broke apart coming off. The brunt of the cost was two coils, two struts, and the headliner. He didn’t bat an eye at the cost.
