How long until we get an RS 5 Sportback? Sure, it’d be overkill, but it’d still sell well, I imagine.

Things that piss me off:
The A3 e-tron hatchback is called a “sportback” on Audi’s website.
The A5 liftback is called a “sportback,” when it is a liftback.
So “sportback,” as used by Audi, means anything that doesn’t have a trunk, but also isn’t a wagon, or SU/CUV, or an A7.
In addition, Audi sells five convertibles but only one wagon here in the states. An that one wagon is an A4 “Allroad,” which I suspect will also be cut within the next three years.

I’m surprised that even exists.
BMW doesn’t make an M4 Gran Coupe because the hatch doest have quite the chassis regidity of the sedan or coupe. I wonder if Audi addressed that issue or just figured that no one would track the sport back and left it being a little floppier than its siblings. Though if the RS4 doesn’t even make it to the US like the last generation then that wouldn’t leave many options for Americans who want an Audi in that class.

With Audi Sportback refers to the design of the rear profile, instead of trunk opening.

Audi has been testing the RS5 SB at the ‘ring. It will be unveiled soon.
It’s %99 likely we’ll be getting this, since we don’t get the RS4. Again.
