It’s National Drink A Beer Day, so I’m celebrating with one of my favorite local beers, Hornswoggler from The Veil in Richmond. It’s a coffee/chocolate milk stout, and very tasty. This variant uses all-Colombian coffee. Anyone else participating?

I’m having a Marston’s Pedigree amber ale and a very large Auchentoshan whiskey.
Had a Razor Back amber craft ale which was okay.

Had a Banded Horn ipa with an amazing dinner. Now having an ancnoc scotch. The scotch is quite good for the price. The beer was good but the price matched. I’d rather have a Sierra Nevada.

I have to be at work again in the morning, so no extra alcohol for me. The Hornswoggler is 7%, which, while not for lightweights, is among the weaker beers the brewery sells.

Yeah, I hear you. I’ve been to a couple breweries that have had beers that, while good, were a bit overpriced. Sierra Nevada is good bang for the buck. Especially their Torpedo IPA.

we were up in Victoria last Friday and stopped into The Churchill - they had a great tap list of local BC brewskis.. I had a pear sour, a milk stout and something else that I don’t really remember because I was already getting pretty snockered at that point.... Canadian “pints” are BIG.

Ah, nice. Yeah, I think imperial pints are bigger than ours. Either way, a good DIPA (8-9%) gets me feeling good after one.

‘snockered’, is that like shit-faced, pissed, hammered, wasted, trashed, blotto, etc...?
Canadian/British pint = proper pint 95ml of extra goodness over a U.S. customary pint.
Though apparently Canada doesn’t enforce the pint size and many places use the U.S. measurement.
