Today sucks, woke up in major back pain for the first time in like 8 months, been having a hard go all morning then this happens..
I’m at work and an annoucement comes over the pa “Will the owner of a brown 2009 IMPALA with plates (my plate) please meet security in the parking lot”
I go out side to see what happened, fearing the worst like some one hit my car or something.
NOPE.
turns out I left my keys in the car with it running and unlocked since 720am when i showed up... god damn it.. surprisingly it only ate a 8th of a tank of gas tho... but for real.. I can’t believe i did that, I’ve never done that before.. weekend can’t get here soon enough.

One time I parked my pathfinder outside my front path to quickly unload some thanksgiving dinner stuff and just left it outside idling without reparking it for the entire night. Woke up the next morning and it was still running but...pathfinder had a broken gas gauge the whole time I owned it.
I was already late for work and had to just drive the damn thing like a baby and pray I wouldn’t run dry on the highway. When I went to fill it up it filled about 19 gal. The tank is “21 gallons” but I have run it dry before and filled 19.5ish gal so I was damn close.

Thats a new one! Ive left my keys sticking out of the trunk for a whole weekend (encrusted in an ice block since I went skiing), Ive left the keys in the ignition set to ON so it didnt beep when I got out, and Ive just straight up lost my keys before. But never left the car running. Haha thats a hard one to miss outside of silent EVs and shit.

I spotted a running car in our parking garage one morning. It was a push-to-start affair with a proximity key. I notified security, but they never figured out who owned it. As I left at the end of the day, the owner just happened to get out of the elevator with me. She was surprised and somewhat embarrassed to see her car running. Yep, it ran all day.
We make jokes about it every time we bump into each other on the elevator.
