This has been for sale at a local shop where I’ve bought a bunch of cars over the years. They seek out wagons, and manuals in particular - however, they can only seek what can be found. In the absence of a manual option for the F3x generation, you can at least order every sporty option including silly little flappy paddles. Which the original owner of this car must have done:
I have no issues with my E46 and since we got a third car, it’s had a nice break. But then, it’s nice to sell a car when there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it, and still has good value - as opposed to waiting until it’s a POS and you can’t trade it for a bag of airline pretzels.
And this is pretty nearly exactly how I’d option a wagon of this generation, down to the color and everything. Hnnnnngggggg....

It’s been on their lot for a while, but they also have a loyal following of people like me, so they’ll just wait.
It’s not uncommon for cars to come back to them to sell a second time, especially with one this new. So maybe the next time they have it, I’ll be able to afford it, and/or will have resigned myself to the fact that manuals are probably not worth seeking out at all costs anymore.
I’m not there yet.

I have a lot of trouble remembering what is available in US market but are there any e91 328i’s near you? Do they come in a stick? Idk I know nothing.

I would suggest looking for a manual E91 328i. You can still get it in RWD, stick is available, and it’s still a naturally aspirated inline six. It’ll be cheaper, too!

We do have E91 328i’s with manual, they’re just hard to find. But they exist. This same place had one a few months back and it was sold before they even posted it online.

If it has the M Sport Package, it should be a good car to have. The turbo 4 wont break any speed records but its not terrible.

Just did an autotrader search of the whole country and found 1 BMW wagon with a manual. Looked at the interior pics aaaand....its an auto and they listed it wrong.

I was about to sell my e46 and buy a GTI. The e46 is paid off and doesn’t have any (major) issues, so I decided to keep it, for now. It’s a fun car, but I can certainly understand the desire to upgrade.

yeah... when I decide I want to upgrade, I’ll have to have this shop find me one.
I saw a blue one with a manual in a parking lot one time, with local plates. I almost put a note on the windshield, “if you ever go to sell, call me...” but I didn’t. I regret not doing that.

A GTI would be high on my list as a replacement for my wife’s X3, when the time comes, but that time is not now for the same reasons.
Nice blue car in the background, too. Is your E46 lowered a bit?

I’d recommend it. Nothing but great reviews and a great value for the money.
The e46 is lower, but only because it has the ZSP package which swaps the sedan springs, for the lower/stiffer coupe springs. The blue Bimmer is another Oppo member and great friend, Heliochrome85.

I’d like to drive a GTI on the highway for an hour. Specifically, my wife needs to do that, because that’s what she does every day, twice.
She watched enough Top Gear with me to know about Clarkson and how critical he is. I told her that’s what he drives around a lot of the time. If it’s good enough for him....

3 of my close friends (car guys) have bought them for DDs. One of them is a R. This past weekend I was at the track talking to an Indy Light driver, he’ll be in Indy next season, and he just bought a GTI. I honestly couldn’t find a bad review, and trust me I looked everywhere. Get the base model. Less stuff to break, and I like the plaid seats.
