They didn’t hit anything. They likely were trying to avoid a pothole. There street that was on has a bunch of them. So go figure.
This is why it makes me nuts when I’m going fast and some goober thinks that now we’re racing because we’re both in fast cars. I’m delighted to convoy at speed but the morons that have no idea what they’re doing behind the wheel of a car truly believe they know what they’re doing simply because they haven’t crashed yet and invariably end up like the video.
Sorry for the rant. Just home from a 14 hour work day. Sigh.

Given the height of the camera and the reactions of the vehicle, I believe the red camera vehicle was also a semi tractor and trailer, which was actually going at a speed that would put it in front of the truck + trailer in the eight lane in just a few seconds. After all, the left lane is for passing, and an 80,000lb truck can’t do it as fast as a 3,000lb supercar.

That’s the exact same tactic I use in Mario Kart to get enemies out of the way - bounce them off the road.

I think the camera car was also a semi, given its height, and as such I actually think the passing speed was ok. Not great, but OK.

I suppose near the end he was at least finally gaining ground, and the Z approached at such a rate that he was probably well into the “pass” by the time the speeder entered the line of sight. Still, the “elefantenrennen” are a big reason some loathe trucks.
