If my brother did that I would laugh at him until the end of days.

I’ll be honest I have dreams about buying a Jellybean Prius and swapping a VW diesel into it for MAXIMUM RANGE.

My brother drives an aveo sedan. Hell I’d drive a Prius. (Wouldn’t buy one though).
Commuter car.

There’s something hilarious about that... “Well, it’s October. Looks like it’s that time of the year when I have to buy gas.”

The one with the batteries from some year.
Does anyone who drives a Prius actually care? I seem to remember once a Prius driving acquaintance say something “I just saw a new one. I hear it gets [some number] more em pee gees.”
That’s probably the extent to which anyone cares.
That said, I’ve always dreamed of pulling the hybrid powertrain out of the Prius C and doing a full WRC spec car.

The 2016+ regular Prius does drive a lot better. Like, a lot better. Like good enough that I actually own one.
It’s still slow , but Toyota basically did a lot of copying of the Mk7 Golf when they were designing the TNGA platform and the Gen 4 Prius specifically.
(And it gets... four more em pee gees.)
As far as a racing Prius c non-hybrid... if you’re pulling the powertrain out, you could just do a Yaris WRC, which is something that Toyota actually did, and get a shorter wheelbase, lighter car on the same platform.
