A Florida paraglider is lucky to be alive after he slammed Tuesday morning into power lines carrying 7,200 volts of electricity, knocking out electricity in a St. Petersburg neighborhood
Paragliders have long plagued the neighborhood, [neighbor] Jim Tallon said. “You could start a house on fire, he could kill himself,” the fed-up resident said. “He could hurt somebody on the ground. There is a child’s playground right down there.”

Slammed? More like floated gently.
The pilot didn’t have a chute collapse, he had an engine failure.
This is nothing more than hyperbole to make fearful people more fearful.

Nah. If Florida Man (TM) were actually involved, he would have been the one shooting the guy out of the wires.

Maybe Florida Man was testing out a new meth home delivery service and got a little too low on approach.

Birds land on power lines all the time, no problem. Florida Man was just trying to follow their lead...
