Now, because people don’t like to play nice, people are flagging the heck out of his ads (likely because they called him and don’t want to give anyone else a chance), so only a handful are up at a time. As of right now, only 13 are up.
And yes, he does use “ran when parked” in at least one of the ads! :)

Probably a mix of both. The guy clearly didn’t want to get rid of his cars (I mean, he does seem to love them) and from what some are saying on the FP, he’s really firm on his favourites (like the BMWs). Though, I bet he’s quite reasonable and getting really low-balled too.

Not really. Cars parked in a field for how long? I know there are a handful of interesting cars, but otherwise, they’d be beyond a project I’d consider.

Interesting stuff. Manual W201 190Ds are scarce, I assume 1983 is a production date, as I think they are MY 1984 at the oldest in NA. W108 is not 1975, won’t be newer than MY 1973, with production ending in 1972I think. At least it is being touted as a parts car. Why did he have to park these outside? I get a feeling some were redeemable before they were parked.

Well seeing as he is a hoarder it only makes sense that he would be reluctant to get rid of these. The biggest issue is probably gonna be price. I doubt a hoarder would attach truly fair prices to move this junk quick.

I called and talked to him about the Jeepster Commando that someone shared pictures of before. Sadly, it was on the list of cars he actually wants to work on before setting a price.
For a guy that is being kept very busy he was very friendly on the phone and gave me a rundown of the vehicle and it’s current condition as well as what he wanted to accomplish before setting a price.

It takes many people to flag before an ad is removed. There aren’t hundreds of people trying to ruin it for others. And he’s got ads up for several weeks. I don’t see a problem.
Btw posting rants about flagging draw negative attention and more flags. Not to mention don’t work.

What really happening is Craigslists computer is seeing dozens of ads in cars “by owner” and assuming a dealer is posting and lowers the number of flags
His ads look good. He probably needs to slow down posting a bit is all. Don’t have all up at once.

Ever have an older Merc? I can’t imagine the cost to get it pretty! That car is firmly in Classic Dept. territory. He said that was a parts car when he was interviewed and he isn’t wrong. better to buy a neglected car from out west, save a fortune.

Yeah it really pisses me off when they get all this stuff and then park it to rot in a a state with a terrible climate. They knew they weren’t going maintain them or protect them, it’s a disorder. If you have a huge barn and pack them in the dry, ok maybe.

Oh for sure - I’ve always liked those old Mercs but have never owned one and likely never will. They’re labors of love - not really worth the $ it would take to bring them back from the dead.
