This one took three and a half hours.

It all depends on the car and what it needs. :)

I usually say three to four hours straight off the bat and then work out.

I think my longest was 15 hours or so over two days.

that engine bay tho

The Ninth gen wasn’t too dissimilar to the eighth gen so was getting quite dated at the end.

Ye’, the engine is tiny and pushed right back. One cap literally has 4-5mm to manoeuvre under the scuttle panel.

The owner said it looked better than when she got it, but she always says that. Lol.

Sorry. I thought I had posted a reply. It obviously didn’t send it.

The ninth gen Civic wasn’t much of a departure from the earlier 2005-2011, eighth gen Civic so was getting really dated.

The engine bay is small and some of the engine is underneath the scuttle panel.

I love how the base folds up. Making a great tall load area.

The legs on the seat base act as a lock mechanism to keep the seat base secure. Lift the legs upwards to unlock and then fold the seat down.

Kinja'd!!!

and when the back folds forward down the seat base lowers into the footwell.

I’d be surprised if I spent 15hours over the course of a year for cleaning a car

Lovely, but damn the orange peel(?) in the last image. Seems most if not all newer cars are like that tho... Also i bought a cheap rotary 3" air polisher, so time to get scrubbing at some paint myself :D

If dealers are anything like they are here then that’s not hard to believe. People constantly tell me my Golf (2012) looks brand new, and I think it looks better than new. The trim, thanks to Sonax, looks richer than it did from the factory, and the paint looks fantastic.

Ouch. Sounds like if you were my neighbour, I’d be cleaning your car anyway.

I wish I had the enthusiasm to do it myself but get bored and backache when I’m there for too long washing it

Apparently the dealers she takes her cars to for part exchange on the car she’s buying always remark on how well kept the cars are.

One said how good hers looked and she replied, ‘ye’, better than yours’.

Kinja showed I had a notification from you but only now let me see it. I wish people would stop messing with stuff.

For me it’s relaxing as I’m thinking about the car and how best to clean it without doing any damage (ie scuffs, micromarring, etc...). I do get rm ache from operating a pressure washer so long (the vibrations through the lance can start to get painful), backaches from bending and sore knees from kneeling. But it means I’m not thinking about other things going on in life.
