Got an email from my dealer yesterday that my Crosstrek has been delivered and the accessories i wanted added were installed. I found this slightly unusual as Subaru of America just gave me the VIN on 9/22, and stated it was going through QC at the plant and would be delivered on/before 10/23. Comparing the VIN on my delivered Crosstrek and the one SoA gave me, it is in fact a different, but same spec’d vehicle (base don what i can find on VIN finder). I’ll definitely be going over it extremely well before signing off on it. Unfortunately, i wont be able to pick it up until Saturday at the earliest, as I didn’t apply for the auto loan until yesterday as it expires after 60 days and I thought i still had time to get it.

My grandmother just got a loaded 2018 Crosstrek and it is damn nice for an Impreza. Genuinely a really nice place to be.

As for the VIN it is possible that they assigned you a car and then an identical one became available. They could have just decided to give you the completed car instead of making you wait. It’s also possible the dealer got an identical car and thought it was your specific car when it was intended for inventory.

Just confirm the exact specs and, more importantly, price. I had something similar where an “identical” car became available a couple months early. Well, identical except for the additional stuff added on, but you really do need the cold weather package in Virginia, so it’s a good deal. Nope. Ended up sticking to our guns, said we’d take the car but the price we agreed on, or we would just wait for our actual car. They caved in a couple hours. Cold weather package really was nice.

Yep- based on a VIN decoder, its the same colors/packages and everything so I’m guessing thats what happened. I’m more than happy to get it earlier if its exactly the same.

Yep, I wont be paying anymore than whats listed on the original documentation i got. If they want to add accessories to it for the same price, they are more than welcome to :).
