Madurodam is a tourist attraction in the Netherlands that shows different aspects of Dutch life in 1:25 scale. It raises money for Dutch charities, as a memorial to George Maduro, a Jewish law student and Dutch resistance hero in WWII who died at Dachau. They’re auctioning off one of the models from their miniature Schiphol as a fundraiser for Red Cross relief efforts in St. Maarten.

Its a lovely stroll when the weather is good. The cool thing about the Schiphol area (and some other location in the park) is that they are interactive, meaning that there are movements (the planes at Schiphol are ‘taxiing’ in circles). Its a cool park, I just wish it was a bit bigger.

Not sure, the models do sit outside year round, so I’m guessing it’s for UV resistance. I don’t even want to think what the shipping cost would be!
