Update: 50 minutes. I’m 15th in line at 3:51pm. I don’t have my personal property receipt, but they usually look that up for me (as long as it’s marked paid in the system).

All for a little sticker...

So glad we don’t have to deal with any of that BS. There are a lot of reasons Illinois sucks, but it’s pretty easy to own and register a car here.

You have to admire them for calling the department what it is. It’s not about the motor vehicles, but instead is all about the revenue...

Is the prevailing thought that states shouldn’t generate revenue to maintain things like roads by charging fees for the use of things like vehicles? Sure, the DMV kinda sucks, but what is the alternative? Or is it just the lines that suck?

The lines. The fact that you have to have all your paperwork or else you are the mercy of the teller person.

The lady looked up the state information I didn’t have with me and my insurance information I had to look up while in line.

She could have turned me away with out the paper.

Typically different staples will call it the Department of Motor Vehicles for plates and tags. Missouri calls it what it is.

AND... it seems like every DMV worker has zero personality, zero sense of humor, zero looks, zero mental capacity and zero compassion. They wouldn’t care is you were in line all day.

I was nice to this lady. Made her laugh a couple times. She had a hard time looking up the information as it was under my wife’s maiden name. She was tired, and obviously had a long day.

Other DMV places I’ve gone to the people are like robots.
