Kinja'd!!!

Before I buy this and LS-swap it. I barely know how to fix my own cars but this non-running 944 for $400 is bringing up all kinds of emotions. Talk me out of it.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I seriously am not qualified to pick up such a project. Please convince me that I seriously am not qualified to pick up such a project.

You are seriously not qualified to pick up such a project, it would seem.

Unless you have a well-funded savings account gathering dust.

I have enough disposable income to buy a cheap Porsche, but I do not have the disposable income to get a cheap Porsche roadworthy. Only cheap thing about a cheap Porsche is the purchase price.

Ahh you’re so right. If I buy it at the bottom of the depreciation curve, I will STILL lose money on it. Ugh. Thank you for saving me $8k with your sage advice :)

Assuming you have another running daily driver and somewhere to put this, I see no issues.

Its only an issue when you pick up a project as your daily driver. Unless of course you like not sleeping.

I might as well just LS-swap my MR2 instead. Probably cheaper than the Porsche project...

do a 4th gen 3s-gte swap that would probably be a lot fuckin cheaper and easier. and if you LS swap a mr2 please put lojack in your car so they know where to bring the big spatula that scrapes you off the asphalt.

It sounds like what you want is a LT1/LT4 C4 vette. That’ll get you an old, good handling 300+hp sports car for a lot less than LS swapping a 944.

No buy it. Put a carborated 350 in it. Just expect the project to take 3 years and cost double what you thought
