It’s in Scotland at a castle , because of course it is. Still a few months off, so I’m still working on details, but I think I’m going to rent a car like I did last time I was in Europe. Also need to figure out what I want to do while I’m over there. Since I can’t find a girl looks like I will be traveling alone for most of it, but it should still be a pretty fun trip.
I’m not sure what I’m more excited about, the wedding or right hand drive manual car.

Scotland is a great place to visit. I went there on my honeymoon (wife is 1/2 McLachlan). If you can get up to Skye, it’s way cool. Also, Oban scotch is the best scotch I’ve ever had.

You should go to the Isle of Skye. I was in Scotland for three weeks over the summer and drove from Edinburgh there one weekend. It was the highlight of my trip by far. Not only were the views incredible, but the drive to get there was a blast too.

HA! I’ll be the only non-family member there. I think there’s going to be like a total of 12 or 13 people. I don’t have a girlfriend, and haven’t had one for some time, so the talk of a plus one never came up.

Alternative advice: Do NOT try the haggis. Instead try 50 different whiskys. But not while driving on the right(wrong) side of the car on (very) narrow roads.
You’ll be in the south for the wedding, but if you venture north I highly recommend visiting Oban. From there you can continue north to Skye if you wish.

Scotland is awesome. I spent a semester there like a decade ago in college. There are some crazy roads up in the highlands that one can not look at without thinking of Colin McRae.

Don’t fear the kilt. I did it in February for a company function. It was very involved to get on, though.

Haha, I have Irn Bru in my cabinet (here in the US). Since we have a Scottish office and I don’t drink scotch, I keep some of this around to give people a wee taste of Glasgow.
