On Saturday I attended ‘Rally Day 2017' at Castle Combe (I volunteered to help get people in during the early morning and then had the rest of the day to enjoy) and when I was wandering around looking at all the cars in attendance I spot what has to be the worst fake ‘vent’ I’ve ever come across

Makes sense with the M-Sport badge. They’re trying to make it look like the WRC car

Do factory fake vents count?

yeah, it was obvious that’s what they were aiming for but failed so epicly bad with the execution of it

of course factory vents can be included here, and that’s a good example but at the same time the car would look a little plain/not so aggressive without them

Or they could re-design the bumper to not look plain without strange fake vents.

To be fair. At least the M-Sport Edition Fiesta has some performance tweaks.

Each car also includes embroidered seats featuring the M-Sport logo, a custom steering wheel with Nappa leather and Alcantara trim, a carbonfibre gear lever insert with M-Sport logo on the gate pattern, an M-Sport logo on the rev counter and individual carbonfibre build numbers on the tailgate to define true limited edition status.

The most exciting upgrades however can be found under the bonnet. The 1.6 EcoBoost direct injection engine comes complete with a Mountune MP215 upgrade which retains the factory warranty and delivers 215 PS at 6,000 rpm as well as 320 Nm at 3,000 rpm.

The Ford IB6 gearbox also features a Quaife ATB limited slip differential for improved traction and OZ Superturismo LM 7x17" ET42 light alloy wheels in matt graphite complete the package.

The M-Sport Transit Connect, Transit Custom and Ranger have bolt of pieces, stitching and decals with no performance tweaks at all.

at least that one doesn’t stand out as fake from a quick glance

even though it has a mountune kit, does that really justify such a terrible attempt at a fake vent?

The first one didn’t look that impressive.

It could of been worse and been a decal though.

They already had lots of practice before 77. The scoops on the 64 GTO were fakes.

I secretly knew there had to be others older than in the 70's but I was too lazy to look it up or remember.

I only knew because there was one that used to regularly come to a local cruise where the owner had changed them into functional scoops. I’d be willing to bet those weren’t the first.

Now I’m curious what was. After work I might go down that rabbit hole.
