Kinja'd!!!

Today started well but sure took a turn for the worse. I hit a crest in the road pretty good with the E92 and it decided it wasn’t happy shortly after that. It went into limp mode where luckily I was able to hobble it back home. Should be fine since I am still covered under warranty. Probably going to have it towed to the dealer mon or tues. I know everything will work itself out but I just feel like screaming on the inside. I got a ton of work to get done on Mon and this car is going to be on my mind all day. That car spoils me with comfort, looks and performance. Knowing that I am responsible for it running crappy makes me feel like complete garbage... Gif to show my inner emotions at the moment.

Hitting a crest is something it should do without a problem, yes?

I jumped several rental cars and none of them have thrown a cel. I hope it’s nothing too serious.

Luckily I didn’t catch air though the suspension sure took a hit. The CEL came on about 5 minutes after rough bump. No matter what happens it will work out in the end. I took a quick look and everything on the outside looks fine so my guess is something is lurking inside mechanically or electrically. God fobid that in some fluke the drive train is completely borked I am still keeping the car and it will be turned into something monsterous. I have gone through some dark times the past couple years and that car kept a smile on my face. No matter the cause or the cost she will be as right as rain.

I got all 4 wheels of my ‘87 300D off the ground (not easy) and there was nary a scrape. And certainly no CEL.

Buicks are not ment to fly but I got a 225 air born once. It was terrifying.

Yeah, that was never going to happen for me in a 2.5 liter Iron Duke Skylark. Piece of shit ....

That car would easily go over a hundred but you really didn’t want to because of the boaty suspension.

That’s the second E9x going down in the last week. Oh gods, the ST curse has moved on!

I had my cruise control set to....well let’s just say “a bit” over the speed limit, on a local country back road awhile back. I learned that the cruise control disengages when the vehicle catches air. That’s some interesting stuff.

Hopefully not and it should be a “simple” fix. The engine sounds healthy and there is no grinding from the transmission. It’s just stuck in limp mode and I don’t have an OBDII scanner on me. I ordered one off Amazon when I came back home. I’ll update again when I figure out what the hell happened.

Drive it. Having a car collect dust is worse than any repair bill I will get. I knew what I was getting into and I will face the consequences of my mistakes head on. The car deserves at least that much.

I knew what could happen I even named my car Maera after a dog in Greek mythology who jumps off a cliff after it finds its owner dead. It may be down but certainly not out. Absolute worst case scenario? I get to document some ludicrous drive train swap.

I’m sure it’ll all work out! Any plans to mod the car?

Oh I know. Was just making a funny. I drive mine every day. Had it for 2 years now and still love it. Thankfully all I have had to do so far is replace a few coils. Gotta replace the valve cover gasket soon though because it started leaking.

It is a 2012 335ix. Planning on getting AAA to transport it today.

Most definitely. I really enjoyed having the car stock while still under the warranty. The warranty runs out next year and depending on their diagnoses the mods might start happening now. I always had a goal of bumping up the power to M6 levels to match my dad’s Gran Coupe. Couple the power with AWD and I have a very potent combination that really flies under the radar.

Sounds like a good plan. You can get the N55 performance pack then flashed onto your car for really cheap from anyone who can code BMW’s. I believe you can have that flash and still be in warranty.
