We took the kids to see Rob Paulson, Pinky from Pinky and the Brian and Yakko Warner, at DragonCon and he said that Spielberg made sure they had use of a full orchestra for each episode. If they were going to make it they were going to make it right. I have a copy of Carl Stalling’s music from the WB cartoons somewhere. Pretty amazing stuff.

Listen to Til Eulenspiegel by Richard Strauss and you’ll know where so much of the classical cartoon music got its inspiration.
