Do I tempt fate and try to replace other stud? I have new studs. I cut remainder of stud off the back, ground it flush with dremel. Mixed a bit of ATF & DOT3 applied and came out fairly easily.

I have applied the mixture to both sides of other stud. I’m going to the hardware store to get some nuts to stack on the stud and see if that’ll get it out.If it breaks closer to the manifold I may be fucked.

Personally, I would go with “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” but you can give it a shot but be careful about how much force you use.

If the threads are still good, I’d just clean them up with a wire-wheel and/or thread chaser, and smear some anti-seize on.

totes unrelated to your post.... but ive been stuck on inventory at work last couple weeks.... swear to marsbar... if i never see a bolt or nut again it will be too soon

(for some reason rather than using the opened boxes everyone just nabs a box for personal use..... having to count whats left in a box that used to have 10.000 nuts in it is a lot more work than just counting full boxes.......gaaaah)

Ne’er tempt fate, for she is an evil mistress; cleverly mischievous, beyond mortal ken.

Unless I could easily get a drill in there I would leave it if it looks still decent. But that’s just laziness on my part really. If one went generally the other will have microfractures, etc, from the added stress and will probably go soon anyhow. And it’ll be much easier to pull it out now and clean up rust in the hole, apply anti seize, etc, than having to do it again later if/when it does break.
