My buddy finally had time to weld my scooter exhaust back together. I’ve come to learn this is a weak point of the Super 8. The muffler is really heavy, and only held on by two bolts. He decided to brace the repair with a piece of angle iron, so hopefully it doesn’t happen again. He also apologized about 20 times for not having time to grind the welds down nice and pretty. I ain’t care! I’m going to hit it with some BBQ paint and mount it up today. Hopefully I can go for a ride tonight! I am very excite!!!

Nice! Did you run it sans piping at all? I’d love to hear a little 125 screaming away like that hahaha. NCY just released a “sports” exhaust for my scooter, but I have yet to find a single person who bought one, and I don’t have 200 bucks laying around, sadly.

Ah, that piece of angle makes me feel much better. Good thinking!

I just looked at one of your previous posts... are you missing a heat-shield mount?

I didn’t. It was loud enough with just the crack, and way down on power. I thought about getting a Yoshimura exhaust, but the forums tell me unless I mod my scooter, which I’m not really not interested in, all it does is make more noise, reduce power, and kill the mpg’s.

I was pretty pleased by the angle iron as well. Yeah, one of the heat shield mounts had to be sacrificed. It was right next to the crack. I’ll probably just leave the heat shield off.
