Lots of cars are victimized by poor modifications. But as we all know, some cars get it just a little worse than others...but who has it worst?
I think, all generations considered, the Mustang has to be the all time leader here. There are poorly done Mustangs of all generations, from 64.5 to 2018. If I had to narrow it down, I’d say the S197 has it worst:
Yikes.
But also high up on this list has to be the Jeep Wrangler, which has been a target of mall crawlers and bros alike for decades.
That’s just awful.
I’d be sorely mistaken if I gave my own people a pass here, but Miatas are poorly modified with such aggressively poor taste, you almost have to respect it.
I’m kinda hoping that’s actually shopped, because I hate to think somebody thinks that’s okay.
Another one we can’t forget is Hondas in general:
The real shame of a disgustingly modified Honda is that each and every one of them were a perfectly competant, fun car to begin with and somebody just said ‘hey, I can ruin that.’
A more recent one, but equally annoying, are the modified trucks we less than affectionately call Bro Dozers:
You never really realize how much you depend on other drivers to not be idiots until you’re driving an NA Miata with one of these piles riding your ass. He would be over my car and into the back of the next car before he even realized anything was wrong.
Those are the ones off the top of my head. Who else suffers from really tacky mods?

Diesel trucks. Definitely the diesel trucks... The others can sport the tacky mods while still performing decently... The brodozer mods serve to make the vehicle worse in every possible way, not just aesthetically!

There’s a guy in my town with an Oldsmobile Aurora that’s styled similarly. His hood is wrapped in tinfoil and he glued trophy eagles all over it. I haven’t been able to get a good picture.

And I agree it’s completely stupid. The worst part is it’s a factory option. Those “carbon fiber” ones are aftermarket but you can order a brand new mustang with little stick on “vents” covering the windows, and big fake side scoops. That’s why the Fox pbody is my favorite Mustang, it’s the only one that doesn’t even have a hint of fake side scoop.
