Fences are hell. A co-worker spent 12K to have a fence put around her place, and parts of it looked like something like I would build all by myself after a few drinks. She had to threaten legal action to get them (an established firm) to remove it and refund her money, then hire someone else at the same price, who took eons to build it.

My OCD is getting to me. I’ve decided I’m going to put the correct Lexus grille and badges back on at some point. Though I do like the way it looks, I prefer my vehicles to look as stock as possible. In addition, I wouldn’t do a rebadge on any car except a Chevy SS into a Holden

It’s almost as good as the old Supra, or Celica badges. And I think it looks more upscale than even the OEM Lexus grille. Actually is that mesh factory?

Damn. I had some guys build a brick wall around my backyard and the sides of my property for $4k. I’m on a 10sq ft That included a sliding gate and a hinged gate and required city permits. God bless the Southwest.

Da fuq? I paid $4k to have a brick wall built around the back of my property. This included the required city permits, a sliding rear gate and a hinged front gate. The guys built it in three days and that included the city inspector showing up to sign off on the permits. I guess it depends on who you know.

Nice. I always have a soft spot for the OG IS300. My car history would be very very different if i bought this back in 2001 instead of the POS C-class i ended up with. A lifetime ago i was a member of the IS forums.

To be fair, she has a large lot, at least half an acre. Not a fancy fence though, wood frame with some kind of mesh or wire insert. The key also might be that this is the Seattle area, where everything is expensive - if you can get someone to come out and do the work at all. Housing is off the charts here, due to everyone wanting to move here, and black money laundering speculators (the “extreme vetting” crowd courts this nightmare instead of patrolling it, what a surprise) being involved in all parts of the market. In the past 3-4 years, many have experienced 50% appreciation. I don’t know if this will end well.
She ended up hiring a friend of a friend to do it.

The maintenance bill on the Tercel for an entire year is probably less than the car payment and the collision insurance for one month on the Slushmobile.
