My friend has has a ‘07 M35X that he bought used in 2012. It replaced his 2002 Audi A6 Turbo.
Plus -
1. No codes or drivetrain issues in the 50,000 miles he’s driven it.
2. Nice interior that shows virtually no wear at 110,000 miles.
3. The AWD and stability control is very good in snow. A real plus.
Minus -
1. Adaptive cruise control - No Nissan executive has ever driven it before it was launched as had they, they would have fired the guy who designed it. You can’t even disable it. On the interstate it easily picks up the truck in the right lane and refuses to pass it. It will even brake hard if someone passes you and pulls in front of you. Bad idea Nissan.
2. Short final drive. This thing does nearly 3000 RPM at 70 mph. Hence bad gas mileage and prominent engine noise.
3. Adaptive headlights. Stepper motors aiming the headlights. A $1000+ fix waiting to happen to each side.
I recently drove a new Q37 and I swear the basic chassis has not changed. I do note that they ditched adaptive cruise control and the 8 speed tranny lets it run at more like 2000 RPM.

This guy always manages to neglect details or say something that is incorrect,
The M35X does not have full time AWD like a Subaru. The ATTESA-ETS sends 100% of the power to the rear wheels until slip is detected. It’s basically a normal RWD transmission with an AWD transfer case tacked onto the rear. That might sap a tiny bit of power, but the drag is minimal when there is no slip detected.
Also, the manumatic was pretty decent for the time (2007 ish). From a C&D article comparing it to Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc. “and its transmission, even with the fewest gears, was disciplined about reading throttle inputs in sport mode, holding gears longer, and supplying much-appreciated engine braking”

Yep, my chevy uplander does 2000 at 70. I don’t know what they were thinking.
