Been daily driving my 1990 Eagle Talon TSi, I now own a secondary car for winter, but screw that. Last weekend I put over 300 miles on the beast.

Monday, I’ll have to drive 140 miles each way for a personal matter halfway across the state. God have mercy on my soul. Wish me luck!

The longest trip I’ve taken the GVR-4 on was about 300 miles round trip to visit a friend. And I probably drove 50 miles when I got where I was going, including some dirt road homage. I burnt up about a quart of oil. That’s when I decided to rebuild my turbo. But really it wasn’t bad, heck I averaged 26mpg

Wow! I cannot tell you the last time I saw one of those vehicles. LET ALONE IN THAT KIND OF CONDITION!!!!!!

Holy cow! Very cool. A buddy of mine in high school had an Eagle Talon just like that but in the aqua/bluish color.

He fell asleep at the wheel one night after working late and crashed it. Totally destroyed the car.

My brother owned one in that color, a 1993! I love these cars! Thanks for the compliments! Sad to hear of one being totaled though.

One of my favorite cars I’ve ever had. I’ve owned an 89 PGT, Zombie chip, boost controller and some other mods. They’re absolutely torque monsters, and they’re beautiful in my opinion too. Must see pics :)

Mine is definitely good on gas, assuming in not stepping into boost constantly. I’ve got the maps tuned nicely for cruising, gets low 30s.

I’d love a GVR4, it’s on my bucket list. I love driving these cars so much!

Wanna trade. An early G1 Talon is my favorite DSM. The only reason I bought the Galant was that it was near by, and “cheap”. But I’m not much of a sedan, or sleeper guy, if much rather have a cool looking liftback.

When it comes to Asian cars, DSMs or the sort, the 1G DSM is my drug. Since the year 2000, I’ve been a crazy 1G guy haha. I’ve never owned a GVR4, but I’ve come close so many times. They’ve jumped heavily in value. Trust me on this, as someone deep in the community, don’t let that car go. It’s going to be a seriously valuable car in the next ten years. They’re already exponentially more expensive than years back.

Problem is I bought the car with the specific intention to learn to drive fast on dirt, and snow. I drive it hard. So even though I am restoring it menchanically, so it’s a better car to drive, I suspect that in 10 years it won’t be pretty. Especially since the rust is starting to set in. But I’m going to try to fix most of that next summer when I drop the subframe sand finish rebuilding the suspension. At least the car looks clean from the out side.

I’ve also tossed around the idea of making it a ute, but that will most likely never happen. I’m pretty sure I’d get kicked off the GVR-4 forums if I did.

I’ll have to beg you not to make it a ute haha, but I’m actually glad to hear it sees dirt. Love seeing GVR4s hitting dirt and gravel, after all it’s in the heritage.

Rust is an unfortunate issue with all of these cars, I’ve got a little to deal with on my 1G over winter when it’s parked. Coilovers go on tomorrow and new control arms soon. My front LCA’s are pretty whooped.

I just got done with front LCA bushing, ball joints, sway bar end links. It was actually not a hard project but I’d never do it before. The other reason I bought this car was to challenge my ability as a mechanic. And it has. It’s a bit more complicated than the Hondas I owne before it,

Yeah they’re not too bad to work on, some stuff is definitely cramped. Hondas always have been the most awesome and simple things to work on. The 4G63 is definitely what I know though, feels like having dinner with an old friend anytime I work on one.
