Kinja'd!!!

That’s the Bay Bridge connecting SF and Oakland as seen from downtown SF. Figured I’d share. Didn’t realize Kinja would make uploading the photo an agonizing process.

Let’s see if Kinja eats it now when I hit publish...

My view on the way to and from work each day. It’s four or five streets away from my house.

Thanks. You sort of stop looking t it after a while.

It’s been there over 900 years so it ain’t going anywhere.

It’s got a lot of history which I appreciate more as I get older.

For 500 years, until the English and Scottish crowns were united in 1603, Carlisle Castle was the principal fortress of England’s north-western border with Scotland. A mighty stronghold in the frequent conflict between the two countries, and the base of the lord wardens attempting to control an unruly frontier, the castle has endured more sieges than any other place in the British Isles. Unlike most medieval castles, it has been continuously occupied since its foundation by William II in 1092. From the 18th century to the 1960s it was the headquarters of the Border Regiment, one of the oldest in the British army.

Always drive around with DCS off?

Also on the 6MT cars, you couldn’t fully turn off DCS.

I’m sure I’ve had family pass through there. My last name is Cannon, which is a religious thing; not the weapon. Canonizing the saints and whatnot. The two N’s suggests it comes from Church of England, but likely based in Scotland.

That’s what I’ve managed to figure out anyway. I took a 23 & Me test that does nothing but support it: 100% British Isles.

As for the idea that I, or anyone related to me, no matter how distant, gets to decide who becomes a saint or not, however, is proof that God/life has a sense of humor. That shit’s laughable.

High five from California.

I turn DCS on if it’s raining and I’m not out literally playing in the rain. Otherwise I have it off. The SMG transmission won’t let you select the “hockey stick to the base of the skull” shift speed with traction control turned on.

DCS off, 7 speed SMG shifting at 60 milliseconds, locked diff, firmest suspension, intakes open for the full 505HP, throttle at it’s most sensitive and active bolstering on max — I pick people up for casual carpool every morning with it set like that and then struggle to drive slow and smooth. Something is wrong with me. There’s something to be said for driving a fast car slowly that few people appreciate though.

Why couldn’t you turn off DCS with the 6MT? Did you have the M dynamic mode at least? No hidden bit about holding down the button for a few extra seconds or anything?

I go across the GGB to Van Ness, Broadway and down through the financial district to Moscone.

You can’t turn the DCS off because apparently the manual box couldn’t take the power from the engine.

If they were of religion and passed through here, they likely would of came to Carlisle Cathedral, it’s Rectory and it’s priory.

The Bishop of Carlisle lived (until the last few years here, when the Church of England sold the 16 bedroom property off) in Rose Castle just outside the city in Dalston and your family may of attended there.

Likewise. If you ever make your way to the SF Bay Area I’ve got a track car with two seats and an extra helmet.
