My son is angling for a uromastyx. He accidentally killed his bearded dragon, so we’ve been hesitant about it.
They are neat looking little monsters.

We went to a show last year and again just last weekend. Last year there was a vendor out of Texas who was breeding uromastyx, but the vendor didn’t make the show this year. I’m pretty sure my son would have bought one on the spot if the vendor had been there.
The show was relatively small, but it was packed with reptiles, mostly snakes. We aren’t really interested in snakes. Too snakey.
My daughter wants a hedgehog for some strange reason. A cat would have been an acceptable alternative. We haven’t had one because we thought my wife was allergic (turns out she isn’t) but when we went to visit some at the shelter we discovered that my son definitely is allergic.
So we are back to looking at hedgehogs. And lizards.
Our house is turning into a true menagerie.

We’ve got a 30+ year old box turtle named Norman. He escaped yesterday but I found him! I don’t have a pic of him though. On the Amphibian side we’ve got Maurice (White’s Tree Frog) and Moss (Amazon Milk Frog).

When I set up an aquarium, the first order of business is to fill it with water. Reptiles aren’t my thing, so I have no idea. I had a tokay gecko when I was younger, but got rid of it because it was so dang aggressive. Bite me too many times and it’s out the door you go. I haven’t had a reptile since.
I’m letting him pick what he wants, then I’ll read up about it so I can watch and make sure he’s taking care of it properly. The bearded dragon died when he wasn’t paying attention to the instructions and overdosed it with one of the supplements. It was a sad day for everyone.
He’s been saving up for something new ever since.

That was my little lady, she had a hard life before I gave her a home, but unfortunately she passed not long ago.

That’s a cool ass dude right there. I had a bearded dragon and a water dragon when I was a kid, both were cool but the water dragon was super friendly.
