Someone has a large accident coming to them.

EDIT: I forget that things are easier to see on camera when you saw them in real life... watch the front wheel.

Kinja'd!!!

They were driving like an ass before this point. That + no brakes will catch up to them.

He is inferring they have no brakes? Maybe because we’re seeing brake lights and its not slowing down. I’m not sure either.

No brakes or just a mystery braker?

I’d more likely believe the latter. Some people brake for things that the rest of us mortals cannot see.

Watch the front wheel. Something is f’d with the brakes, they’re sparking.

The road curves a couple degrees to the left. Seattle area drivers will brake for that.

Sparking brakes. He’s braking because the ramp curves, and every time he gets on them, sparks.

Thought it might have just been someone with their left foot resting on the pedal but then I saw the sparks. Never heard of brakes sparking but they must make an awful noise when they do.

Look closely at the bottom of the front wheel.

Watch the front wheel. Brakes have been neglected long enough that they spark.

I’d guess he’s worn through either the pads or rotors. Yes you can do that.

That also might just be a feature, like a special cornering light package.

I have seen the carnage on Reddit but I have never heard of them producing sparks when worn to basically nothing.

I just thought if you’re at the steel-on-steel stage there’s bound to be sparks, no?

I don’t think there would be sparks from steel on steel because it is effectively 2 smooth surfaces rubbing. I think you need something abrasive removing tiny pieces of the metal in order to get sparks.

This is what happens when you normalize brake squeal because you hear it in TV and in movies.

Didn’t see the sparks before, but I still think he’s a mystery braker. Doesn’t look like there was a reason to slow down from what I can see.

True, but first the parts have to wear together. If they’re just getting to that point you could potentially get sparking.

Meh, I dunno. I just know it ain’t good.

Trust me. Follow this map through.

You *can* go through the first bend at 80km/h, but that means having to lay on the brakes immediately afterwards. I personally do that often at this time in the morning because traffic hasn’t backed up yet and it’s fairly risk-free, but most people don’t enjoy it. Anyway, moot point considering we both probably entered the ramp at ~140km/h. There was definitely slowing down to do.

I didn’t. I can make out the phone number but not the company name or any operator name/#. I could easily cause more problems than I solve.

Then don’t report the behavior, just report the malfunctioning saftey hazard of a vehicle.
