What a miserable piece of shit. Holy fuck the brakes are super sensitive to the point that the lightest brush makes it feel like I’m about to be ejected, the acceleration is super jerky yet gutless, the shocks feel like they’re blown out already in that the car violently squats when you press the accelerator, and the interior looks about as bad as the outside.

Not even gonna give this one the benefit of a picture. Fuck this car.

Some people believe that the advance of technology has made every new car, particularly one with lots of features, preferable to an old car.

These people are what we call “wrong”.

Sounds like a Fiat 500.

Try a rental-spec Nissan Versa with a CVT. In Montana where speeds under 70 are rare.

It might be ok in a city because it’s a basic, reliable box on wheels, but then I guess the Kia could be described the same way. The only thing I’ll say is it got almost 40mpg no matter how hard I thrashed it.

Those people have never driven an E36. Or an E30. Or a Honda CRX, or any civic from the 90's. Or an old Toyota pickup. Or...

Felt like I was sitting at my desk at work when I drove that POS as a rental. Chairs sucked, position of seating was awful and it had the worst dials.

And now they offer it with a 200 hp 1.6T. It reminds me of something 90’s GM. Let’s take a crummy platform that can’t support it and start adding power because power.

I think that bad cars like this make for shitty drivers and make the rest of us miserable.

They are so cheap that they even break oddly. Had one in our shop last year for a suspension and fender repair. The Soul had been hit on the drivers side tire and headlamp area and looked very minor. They thought like on most cars that the bad alignment would have been the steering knuckle or control arm being bent. Those parts had to be returned and a subframe ordered. The wheel, arm, knuckle and tire were all fine. The wheel bearing and frame parts were all that needed replaced but took a lot more labor. It didn’t even break a tire belt. On most cars there are certain parts you expect to fail in a crunch zone during an impact. The control arm and other such pieces being stronger than the sub-frame are totally out of the norm.
