Yeeeup, I’m driving the self-driving Cadillac from Memphis to Santa Fe. What do you guys want to know about it? I assume I’ll get pretty bored of sitting, watching but not driving.

My merc is equipped with traffic jam assist. Ive set the max speed to 20mph and have accidentally (unintentionally) fallen asleep for a mile or so only to wake up screaming and slamming my foot to the floor missing the brake pedal as the merc comes to a gliding stop behind a stopped queue of cars. It’s easy to get lulled into a inattention and distraction with these l2/ l3 driver assist programs that provide a false sense of security.

Technically you’re still supposed to watch everything while the car self-drives at this level. Do you think the boredom could distract you to the point that it is less safe than actually driving yourself?
