Kinja'd!!!

So if you’re following along at home back in June we finally got the motor replaced in the cobalt from when it through a rod last year in September, this year in September the transmission in the explorer decided to give up the ghost, slipped out of 4th on the highway yesterday and they only way I could get it off the highway and to my in-laws house was throwing the selector to “3.” Had the shop take a look and they said the trans fluid is almost black and that something disintegrated within the trans so now it needs a new one to the tune of almost 2k. And I just can’t seem to catch a God damn break

A couple years ago I was road tripping with my dad in his Envoy, taking the neither route through north-west Ontario. The 4L60E did its thing, split the sun gear in two. We’d been getting an odd clunk here or there, but then we attempted to reverse out of a spot at a truck stop and there was a crunch of gears and we rolled forwards instead of backwards. Hearst, Ontario. By complete miracle there’s a GM dealer in town. Nothing in about 200km in either direction. Could’ve been much much worse than a 30 hour delay, hotel room, and $4200 to get the rebuilt one installed.
