For years, I’ve been collecting my Aviation History posts at the tag planelopnik history . Overnight, the tag got spammed. Is there any way to get these posts scrubbed?
UPDATE: I reported this via email, and just got a reply from Steve Climaco. They were able to delete the offending posts. If you come across any more, please report it and they’ll take care of it.

The dumb thing about that is that I’m guessing not many people searching for ‘Planelopnik History’ are going to the UAE any time soon.

Can we even set up new Kinja blogs anymore? If so, now’s the time to finally do that and share them all to the new blog (and publish there going forward).
One (crappy) solution might be to go add the tag PLANEOPNIK to all the old posts and use that going forward... Like I said, crappy.

No, you can’t set up Kinja blogs, and I missed out when I had the chance. This is just the collection via the tag. So really, anybody could post to it, and a couple of people have, but it’s always been aviation-related. I really need to get my stuff onto my own blog.

Hopefully it’s a fairly easy copy-paste job (per post...) to Wordpress or whatever you end up going with. Actually, what I would do as a minimum for now is just save the complete webpage for each post on a folder on your computer. That way, you have all of your words and the pictures you used, so if OPPO ever disappears, you have a way to put all your work up somewhere else.

I have dabbled with this in the past, but it’s such an enormous undertaking that I haven’t really dived into it. I want to save the text in a form that it can be edited. And then I have to figure out what platform to use, learn how to use it, etc. One of these days.....

If you need help setting up a Wordpress blog to the point that it’s ready for you to post to, that’s not too big a deal for me. If you want some help with that! But I agree it would still be a large undertaking at that point, getting everything properly copied over from your posts here.

I think my biggest headache right now is organization. It’s been pretty easy to write for a certain date range and then post on a specific date, but I’m not sure how that will work with a blog. I suppose I could use the same sort of format, and post alongside my Oppo posts, which I plan on continuing. I don’t expect many hits outside of Kinja, but I would like to have everything off-site in the unlikely event that something happens to Oppo.
Right now, I’m taking my posts from 2016 and reworking them, mostly with simple edits for clarity, updated information, or new events (like Cassini-Huygens, which just happened last week). Once I get to March 2018 I will have completed the cycle and may be able to stop editing old posts, unless to add recent events.
I don’t want to impose, but if you have the time I would appreciate the help. I’m a complete noob at this. I need to find a host and a domain and then settle on a format. I would like it to look as much like my work on Oppo as possible, since I’ve settled on a format possible with Kinja and I really like it. If it would be easier to chat via email, you can reach me at my screen name @ gmail.
