The point is, if you’re going to send me unsolicited “upgrade” offers, it better at least be realistic. I have a Colorado, an offer on a new Colorado seems reasonable.
Also the bit about “we can match your payments on a new model!”. That’s wonderful, my current payments are $0—maybe check your files?

Fun trivia: Anthony Simcoe actually has a pretty pronounced rural Australian accent. His D’argo voice was something he’d developed, not as an accent with an aim toward use in a role, but as a way of goofing on being a Movie Trailer Guy with his friends. He tested for the role and used his Movie Trailer Guy voice for hyucks and they were sold.

If you think about it on another level, Ben Browder’s horrible British accent makes sense in the internal logic of the show. Since the translator microbes are translating everything anyway, no falseness of accent is coming through at all when Crichton speaks that way. Instead, because Crichton is using the talking-in-that-accent as a way of bootstrapping himself into being snotty and supercilious, *that* is the only thing that comes across to them, and it works. Sort of.
