I have an 89 Suzuki Intruder 750cc that I’ve been trying to flip. But no one seems to be interested in it, so I’m taking my safety course to get my license and riding it for a bit. I’d like to get a decent riding jacket so I’m protected. I’m usually overly warm when I do anything so preferably well vented. Anyone have any good cost effective solutions? This isn’t a long term venture for me, but I do need to ride the bike a bit to make sure it stays in good running condition. Picture of what I’d like style wise:

Not too concerned with brands at all, just something safe and cost effective.

Might not be the best consult as I just got my endorsement, but an Olympia Switchback 2 as it seemed a good price point and offered several features I was searching for. I personally like the look of the Rev’It Tornado/Airwave, even if the back protector is sold separately.

I’ve got a jacket and pants set from Olympia Motorsports that I really like. They’re both multi-layers.

The jacket has a protective layer with venting options, a water/wind resistance layer, and an insulated layer.

The pants have a protective layer with venting, and an insulated windbreak layer.

I found they work great for touring /commuting. It’s super easy to maintain comfort as the weather changes.

They offer lots of color options for visibility as well

I bought a Tourmaster Pivot in May and it was some of the best money I’ve spent... Breathes well, has 2 liners (rain and cold weather) and fits great.

Been riding with this guy for over a year:

Comes with an insulated liner, that you can remove when running in 65+ degree weather, or leave in when riding in slightly colder temps. Even on 90 degree days, as long as I’m moving, I stay relatively cool. MASSIVE airflow because most of the shell is vented mesh. Also armored shoulders and elbows along with some back armoring.

Thanks! I ended up going with this option. I signed up for their mailing list and got a 10% off code too.

You’re welcome! I actually need to visit my local cycle gear and get a new one, not because my existing one is worn out but because I lost a lot of weight and I’m swimming in it. Need to see if I fit in a large or medium tall now (existing jacket is an XL).

I have a Joe Rocket textile jacket and an Icon leather jacket I need to sell. I can send pics later if you’re interested.

I went with a 2XL. I’m pretty stocky with fairly wide shoulders.

I’m 6'2" 195. The Icon is a bit loose on me. The Joe Rocket jacket is a bit tight. I’ll check the actual sizes tonight.

YMMV, but my current setup is Fox Titan in the summer months, and an Icon Stryker under some Fox Racing coat I’ve had for over 20 years when it gets chilly. Better combination IMO than trying to find one jacket that works in all situations.

I’m not going to be able to fit in those. Shoulders measure 50" Thanks though.
