Look! It’s a 1967 MG GT. This is not a car you see every day. What’s that on teh fender?
It says British Racing and Sports Car Club. Pretty cool. But there under the hood is the real surprise. Ford Small Block!

There actually was a factory MGB GT with a v8 for a few years. Since the v8 was all aluminum it weighed less than the i4.

I had a friend in high school that bought one of these (with the original I4) with summer job income back when they were priced like just another unreliable old British sports car no one but dedicated wrenches wanted to deal with. Same color, awesome car. He joined the Navy and I lost touch with him. Hopefully both he and the car are out there doing well.

Back in the 70s I was into MG and Triumphs. There was a parts guy in VA. Beach that had an MGB convertible with a 289 swap. Custom wound springs in front was about all that I knew about it. Pretty quick car for the time.
