Probably just the badge. Nothing special.

Are both badges bogus? I didn’t do a thorough walk around on the vehicle but...it was BEAT UP. Dings, scratches, rust. Gas door didn’t look capable of closing.

Did the M3 of this era even have 4 doors?

Yes there was an e36 m3 sedan. Not as common as the coupes.

So is it or is it not a fugazi?

I’d bet it’s a real M3. Or someone took the time to swap bumpers and mirrors on it.

Looks legit. The Dinan badge is likely real too. Dinan gives you points when you install their parts. Get enough points and they give you a badge. It’s not really like Steve Dinan actually ever saw that car.

Shame about the condition. It’ll be a track car real, real soon now.

Its definitely an M3, right bumber and more importantly mirrors. While Dinan did do E36 M3s its highly unlikely one would make it that far down the owner pool. Bad aftermarket wheels and taillights are a dead giveaway.

I think it’s likely an M3 - bumper cover and mirrors look right anyways.  As far as Dinan goes, who knows?

E36 M3s aren’t that rare, a real Dinan would be somewhat unusual.

A couple of weeks ago, I parked next to an E36 M3 vert that was pretty trashed, too- they’re old and a most have run through at least one or 2 owners that just beat on them.

My neighbor (‘s son I think) has had a Dinan E46 sitting in the driveway rotting for at least 2 years. They start it up to maneuver it around once in a while but it sounds awful. Barely keeps running, backfiring etc. Probably needs the entire fuel system cleaned

A bit beat up too, shame.
