i feel like imposing. crazy job and crazy kids

9a.m. while working on construction documents that should have been done a long time ago, my boss tells me to redesign the 10 unit apartment building for the 11 a.m. meeting.

I come home and opposaurus child #1 wont eat dinner.

Opposaurus child #2 was pretty good

Opposaurus child #3 wants to be held and will whine/cry if not. if you pick him up he whines/crys to go down. He eats EVERY FUCKING THING off the floor. everything. and he doesn;t stop. that rock that doesn’t even fit in my mouth? yea i’m gunna jam that shit right in.

I need a beer.

Time for the sidework.

And yet in 20 years they’ll all be functioning adults, more or less. One or more will quit graduate school, maybe twice. And they’ll wreck a couple of your cars, so you need to start planning for the safest options. And the one that eats off the floor? Probably will build up a great immune system - see George Carlin.

my parents said i could have a certain amount to buy a car. If I wanted something better then what they would contribute I had to pay for it myself. I managed to collect about $5k which which that and a couple grand from my parents, was able to buy a fairly nice 95 explorer which I proceeded to wreck exactly 1 month later. I tried to turn into a parking lot a bit too fast and slide into the first car which was an early 2000's Chrysler Concorde. I was pretty sure the the guy who owned it thought I did him a favor

Remember, it’s not why the kids eat in a day, it’s what they eat in a week. There’s good and bad days. Especially during teething, oh how I dislike teething. They kids try to eat their whole freaking hand. Poor little guys. But it passes and they’re cool again, then they’re jerks, then they’re cool, then they’re .... well you get the idea. Then they melt your heart when they give you an unsolicited “I love you daddy”. Makes it all worth it. Tomorrow is another day of rough and tough construction play ;).

#3 could be teething, # 1 is 5 and if its not mac&cheese or noodles in tomato sauce she isn’t interested. Sure kids are not going to like everything and we acknowledge that, but last nights meal was fine for her. shes a horrible eater and its a common battle with her.

Lol, my oldest is the same, almost 5, and eats only a few things as well. Like father, like son, I guess. The middle boy has a sweet tooth, but the oldest doesn’t. The baby seems to have a sweet tooth as well, but too early to tell. Some days they eat next to nothing, then others, they eat everything in sight, oh well. This too shall pass.
