For this week, I’ve got a 2017 Chevy Sonic LT 4dr with a 1.8 liter blender under the hood. It’s got New York plates, 25,000 miles on the clock and the steering wheel is nice n’ sticky.
Why do I have a rental car you ask? I bit the bullet and sent the Tiguan off for a new turbocharger. The freaking POS K03 wastegate is a POS and on this car it couldn’t quite hold the full requested boost under WOT. My previous diverter valve replacement made a big difference, but I still felt like the power wasnt 100%.
Hopefully, the Tiguan will be all nice and peppy again after replacement.

Its sad, I could’ve picked a different car too. I was so out of it this morning, I just didn’t care. This was the car that I got picked up in from the workshop.

Well regardless of how the replacement does, it’ll still feel peppy when you get it back after the sonic. So, win!
In the meantime, be gentle with the chevy. “Full throttle” on that baby means strangling both hamsters at once.

It “feels” faster at part throttle. Same way the Cruze does too.
