It looked somewhat odd from the rear.
There’s only one left. It was shot down in 1943, resulting in the deaths of two of its three crew. The survivor made an epic journey back to base and later returned to flying duties. That was the last time he saw his plane until 1996 when he met it in the UK., to where a group of enthusiasts had transferred it after finding and buying the remains in Russia. Its current status is unclear but Paul Allen of Microsoft fame has seemingly bought it as a long term project.
