!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I’d be buying from out of state. Anyone in Miami know anything about the dealer?

Those with E39 M5s, does this one have too many miles?

Thanks in advance!

Boaty

EDIT: and thank you Oppo. You’ve helped talk me out of pursuing this particular vehicle any further. Too many red flags. Now I just need to find another that looks good and isn’t a million dollars (aka isn’t from EAG).

I’ve personally never heard of them, but as someone who’s lived in South Florida for 16 years, I’ll say this.

Be EXTREMELY careful about Miami dealerships. They’re among the sketchiest in the country. I know plenty of people who’ve had bad experiences with Miami used car dealerships.

Thanks. Yeah I’m quite cautious with a dealership that won’t let me set up a PPI for the car. But then again it’s reasonably cheap...

Make sure it’s not a Hurricane Matthew car!

Oh. Good point. Yeah I asked the guy for a Carfax. Most likely going to pass on this one... :(

I wouldn’t buy it.

I would buy a PT Cruiser before buying this.

Hell... I would buy a base PT without A/C before buying this.

Why? Because I *know* that car will suck my wallet dry.

With a car like that with that kind of age/mileage, I’d want to only spend like $3000 buying it and have $10,000 on hand for repairs, maintenance and surprises.

Lol, that’s a fair statement. I was bidding on one on Bring a Trailer today and it went a bit higher than I wanted it to.

I’ve always loved these cars and think that I may pull the trigger sooner rather than later. Just trying to figure out what’s a good buy vs. a bad one. And as everyone’s mentioned, I think this one’s probably a bad one.

Even with a ‘good’ one, the purchase price is merely the price of admission.

The real costs come after... unless you don’t intend on driving it.

If they won’t let you do that, then offer them $3000 cash.

And tell them if they won’t let you arrange at PPI, then you’ll assume the worst... that it’s a car that was used as a brothel, was subsequently in a major collision, had a hobo living in it while it was waiting to be repaired and after that, was in a flood.

So it’s a car that’s nice and shiny, but has evidence and the smells of brothel, hobo ass-cheese and mold as part of the interior.

You’re fine with sitting in a seat with aged ass-cheese in it, right?

That’s a hell of a lot of miles on an M5.

That’s very true. But the want is so strong. And I am not a smart man.

Yeah it’s a fair amount. I know that if they’re taken care of, they can certainly go that far. The problem with this one is the lack of records and inability to get a PPI. That’s move it into the “hard pass” category.

Well I’ve bought half a dozen vehicles with zero records... But you can chance it with a bunch of random Toyotas. Not a high performance German V10 sedan. Or can you?!?!? (No.)

That’s just how it works with these old BMWs...
